Hi Elaine31097, I started on sertraline in November for anxiety. I had been struggling with it for ages and eventually saw the GP to request some talking therapies. She recommended sertraline and I was a bit sceptical, but oh my goodness, I feel amazing now. I didn't realise how bad I was but now I feel more 'normal' and calm, I can see what a pickle I was in. The side effects at first were horrible, but my GP persuaded me to persevere, and she was right, after about 3 or 4 weeks, they had totally gone and now I feel great. I can only speak from my own experience, but I would agree with Weeasy, it gets worse before it gets better, but if you can stick with it, I think you will be pleased you started it. Good luck x x x

i havevjust started taking Sertraline yesterday , my GP, has me taking 25 mg
for first week to see how I get on,, if I find I'm ok, then il bump it up to 50 mg per day..
im hoping for good results, has I am so desperate to get back to my old self.. To care for my husband who has Parkinson's..
i was on Mitrazapine before, and was feeling awful.
I have been recommended for cognitive therapy, but that can take weeks, to set up,
i don't have that time, with not sleeping and panic attacks ..I'm at the end if my rope.
i hope we can as new users, help each other and share our thoughts, about Setraline
pas time progresses.
good luck to you, and me..
