I have been taking it for 7 months and have been on 10mgs the whole time.  [I am on it for Cicatricial Pemphigoid] I am being weaned off Prednisolone at the moment and am gradually feeling worse and worse.  My mouth [which is the worst part at the moment] is getting more and more sore and, I don't know about you John but I feel pretty much on my own here!

So in answer to your question,  I haven't a clue, sorry.

I'm on 25mg for phoriasis. I've been taking it for nearly 5 years.

I use to suffer awful with a sore mouth. Full of ulcers. Till I had a shot of Sambuka. Boy did it sting but it soon cleared it up.

When I asked about it I was told it was the liquorish which is really good for sore mouths. So I often just buy liquorish and it has kept the ulcers away. Only get a flare op now and again.

Hard to imagine that MTX is making your Arthritis worse given how it is designed to work, but is this all you are taking? In my experience it took a combination of MTX, Leflunomide and Arcoxia to get anywhere near containing my Psoriatic Arthritis!

Hi Steve I also take acoxia (couldn't live without) and Hydroxy chloroquine for lupus (which was drug induced) hence my hesitancy with MTX how long did it take taking MTX before you felt better? ?

Hi John, it's been several years that I've been on MTX but I think it became effective for me only once the dose was raised to 22.5 so probably 6 months or so. From the posts I've read on this and other sites I totally respect the fact that everyone's experiences of these drugs differ quite widely, so I hope your Rheumatologist, eventually gets the doses right for you.

hi john,i too am suffering from the same, iv been on mtx for almost two years, and have been telling the doctor its not working,i swapped to methoject three months ago, and had a nuclear bone scan two months ago rvealing that i have no inflammation but further deteriation. so i guess this means that the mtx is finally working but cos of the delay it caused more damage. im taking 20mg methoject, folic acic and hydroxychloroquine. hop this helps.
