Should I swap meds ?

Wondering how long to leave it before I decide med isn't working and try another ? been on sertraline 50mg for 7 weeks, did drop to 37mg for a week but actually feeling lot worse than before I started after upping back to 50mg couple weeks ago. I know swapping meds/doses not recommended but after 7 weeks shouldn't be making me feel worse? Might try lower dose again had to come off citalopram after 8 weeks because they made my hair fall out giving up hope that anything will work! Has anyone else had bad experience on sertraline ?

I think you have to decide how long you can wait vs your own mental health. I was on citalopram for a long time before it stopped working for me. I stuck with Sertraline for 3 months before the side effects became too much and I had to give up. Others seem to get on okay after a while. When I finally went back to my GP she said Sertraline usually works fast. I think it is okay to give up on something that you don't feel is right for you. You seem to have given it a good go. Wishing you luck finding something that helps.

Thanks did you try anything else after the sertraline. Others on here seem say it takes quite while to work. I'll give it about another month then go back to GP also try lowering the dose. Very difficult to know right thing to do. Was on seroxat for 6 months years ago but don't remember feeling this bad on it. Frustrating that i had come off the citalopram.
