Should I switch? Should I stay? Hang on?

Heyya fellas,

I hope you are all happy and doing great.

I've been on Zoloft 50mg for 5 weeks and 75mg for 5 days, I don't know if I'm feeling improvement, honestly. I'm not even sure what normal feels like anymore cheesygrin

I still don't feel right in the head, like if I'm occupied I'm fine and laughing, if I'm free I'm depressed, wtf lol.

Do I stick it out, do I change to Lexapro maybe (after asking my doc), will it work? Reading stories of people having Zoloft work for them in 3 weeks makes me happy for them and sad for myself haha!

Would love positive feedback, thank youuuuu xx!

Hi samchem.   I’m a bit like you, 4 weeks and feeling ok when occupied and laughing but then feeling duff again when not.   I think the thing we need to realise is that we are having glimmers of happy and that’s a step forward and it will build and build until we feel normal mostly but it’s going to take time and patience.   My doc wants me to increase from 50 to 100 but I’m going to stick it out till 6 weeks and if I still feel meh then I will up my dose.   The feeling not Normal is nasty and I hate it too but try and think of it as your brain is trying to adjust.

You're awesome Laura, thanks for the support and kind words. I'm sure we both will get through just fine.

When went on Zoloft many many years ago I was about 19 for severe anxiety and depression it took a whole 6 weeks of misery to kick in on top of that I was on a very high does of Valium to cope in the mean time but once it kicked in it was my life saver and is something I’ll never go off, but every body is different might work more quickly for you or longer for me it took a long time. And at this stage now I’m going through it again due to sudafed reacting to the Zoloft so I feel like I’m starting from scratch and it’s and absolutely nightmare what I’m going through at the moment but when it’s on it’s full effect it’s the best med ever for me but each to there own xx

Hi Emma.  I read your post about the sudofed, that’s such a shame it’s set you back, I found the same when I used to take sertraline and I avoided anything other than paracetamol as other meds just set me off especially cough and cold stuff.   Hopefully it will calm down for you soon.  X
