Should I take the Sertaline?

Hi, I have health anxiety and currently take 40ml propanalol 2 times a day but they aren't working massively so my doctor has given me 50mg sertaline to take once a day.. I have read many reviews and I'm not feeling confident about taking them due to the side effects, having health anxiety means I'm constantly on edge anyway with my health so not sure how if will affect me having even more bad symptoms??? What's everyone's experience??

Hi Nab i have the same issue, which is health anxiety with a sprinkle of depression, because of the anxiety.i was always thinking i was dying of something.Crazy stuff that just snowballed in my head.Anyway also did not want to take this medicine, but did after 2 months sitting on the pills. They do work and my side effects were nausea and stomach pain also was very tired. But it eased up and i am doing very well,my mind just does not go to these crazy places no more.occasionally it might go back briefly, but i think this meds help and its not perfect.i am sure there are people with bad experiences but i think the scare is a bit exaggerated.Try it and if you do stick with it.it can take up to 2 months to start working.good luck

Hiya. Like you I was scared taking sertaline. I was given 25mg for a week then up to 50 but because of my anxiety I decided to take half a 25 for a week then 25 and then a month later up to 50. 4 months later I have my life back. Still a few wobbly days but I can honestly say.. I have me back

Good luck and remember you doctor would not have given you these if he didn't think they would make you better. Make you you keep in contact with you gp
