I have my review with the GP on monday as i need some more tablets anyway but how do i know if 10mg is the right dose? I will of been on this medication for 8 weeks exactly when i go and see the GP. I felt okay week 5 and thought they were working, week 6 and the beginning of this week (week 7) were horrednous - heightned anxiety, headaches, nausea and dizziness thought i were back to square one but then yesterday i felt good and today the dizziness has started again. im still getting morning anxiety but i think this is pretty normal? My question is should i give 10mg a little longer or up my dose? Thanks x

    Hi Lauren.

I am currently at day 16 of 20mg after 8 weeks on 10mg. The past few days I have felt the best I've felt since I started with this anxiety. I still have a long way to go to being fully recovered but I do feel like its starting to happen at least.

8 weeks is still early though and I recovered a few years back on 10mg and never increased my dose at all.

If you have felt a little better at times then that does mean it has been working!x

I got high anxiety attacks ,nausea ,headache, temple pain ,sinus ache , weak ,shakes and so much more crying . Hope it goes back to week 6 it was better . So u may want to wait before going up on ur meds because I seen on here it can take 3 month or longer because everyone is different . Hope some people on here can help me out on this . I am scared still having all this in beginning of 8 week let me know if normal please

The only reasoned i increased is because I was still really anxious and panicky so i felt like it was working. The main side effects I got were from upping to 20, numb hands and feet - crazy anxiety, not sleeping but all the side effects arent as bad at the moment they seem to be settling x

I'm really sorry you're feeling this way 😦 All I can say is from what I've read on here its still early days for you. I have these tablets for anxiety, not depression so I don't know how long these tablets take to bring people out of depression sorry but I know they do work because there is so many success stories on here 😃 x

Mornings for me are the worst part of the day its a horrible feeling waking up like that. I have been on Citalopram since the 6th December and only just starting to have better mornings and feeling less anxious in general. Still not fully right though but I'm staying positive and hoping I'll keep getting better and better now. What date did you start? Everyday last week i woke up heaving, panicking and crying! So it just shows you how quickly things can turn around. I have also been doing mindfullness and meditation for 5 weeks and i've still been going to work to stay in my normal routine because it makes me more anxious if I don't do things I normally would x

hi lauren, 8 weeks is still early days, id give it at least 12, ive been on 10 for many years and once went up to 20 when out of hospital it made me worse (it doesnt for everyone) but the last thing you want is to be on a higher dose than you need, plus if you ever decide to come off its less to deal with!

I've just gone up to 15mg as 10 def wasn't working for me after 5 weeks (previously tried it for 8 weeks) and was making symptoms worse only been 5 days but slight improvement today. But if you are having some good days all well and good and sounds like it is working for you at that dose, think you have to go with your gut feeling as to whether it's the right dose. It's not a quick fix from what others have said. Think morning anxiety is pretty normal.
