should prednisolone work fully all at once?

So pred has got rid of most of my symptoms, bleeding, urgency and loosness, but I still have some mucus and a small bit of occasional left sided pain.

I'm currently on 25mg (course started at 60mg) - have been on them 5 weeks so far, tapering and like I said, i'm now on 25mg, still tapering 5mg a week, so will be on them another 5 weeks.

Is it normal to still be experiencing some symptoms? Will the prednisolone still be helping my body fight the remaining inflammation over the rest of my course?

The main symptoms aren't there, like I said, i'm not bleeding, only going toilet once a day, stools are formed but there is still some mucus attached to the stools - they look slightly furry

you are very lucky if herbs control if. as when it is very aggressive and extremely painful, hospital medication is needed. can I ask what herbs you use. and how much blood u lose daily and pain you were getting thanks

hi Joel it will not get rid of everything it is to calm the flair up that you are having, it is not a cure, some people can take medication for years and never have need of operation, but it is a known fact if u get it when young like I was age 16 they said flair up is very aggressive, I had total colectomy at age 19 life or death for me. but my granny had uc all her life but on medication. so fingers crossed yours settles down and is kept under control Alicia
