Shoulder and Arm Pain

Hello,

I have been suffering with awful shoulder, neck and arm pain, along with my chronic abdominal pain. I just don't know what to do.

I take 80mg Amitriptyline and 30mg tablets of co-codamol. I use heat pack and ice nearly everyday. I have been told to exercise, but struggling to get myself to do so, between work, social life and fatigue.

Any experience that you may have been would be much appreciated.

I really wish there was something really positive I could offer you, but unfortunately I'm not able to.  sad  I get badly affected by a lot of meds as the side effects can be really awful for some people.

Have you seen a Rheumatologist, if not then ask your GP to refer you.  They will do lots of tests Xrays, scans etc to rule out certain things and will hopefully be able to help you with your pains. x

Wow! Sounds just like myself! I don't know what to do either!!!. I hurt everyday. My stomach hurt so bad at times I always think it's more than just fibro going on. Pain is always in the exact same spots on my body. Idk what to do. I take 800 ibuprofen. My docs have tried to get me to take other meds but I refuse. I'm 45 and just want to know what is really happening with my body.

Vitav you are feeling like Keeleyann and I am feeling like you both.   Terrible pain in arm and shoulders at the moment but  what I am really interested in is that you are also suffering with stomach pains.  This not only effects my  stomach but also  bladder pain and lower back pain into buttocks which feel inflamed.   I have been told I have Bladder Pain Syndrome (IC) which comes with fibro.  Do you think the pain in the pit of the tummy and going around into my  lower back could be my Fibro.   Thank you

I am on the same meds as you and I have just been told by my Rheumatologist that Codiene is not a good form of Fibromyalgia pain relief I have got another appointment to start gabapentin next week, I am slowly coming off the codiene as I've been on it for years. I have found Diclophenic gels like voltarol and a magnesium spray before excersize helps me to get through it and excersize has benefitted me hugely as I used to be very active before this. Hope this helps smile
