Shoulder and upper arm pain

I broke my left ankle Feb 2019. I had surgery for a trimalleolar fracture. I was non weight bearing for 6 weeks. I chose a walker instead of crutches. I have experienced arm and shoulder pain in my right arm since then. Has anyone had the same problem? I think it is finally getting better but here it is almost a year later and it still hurts.

    I had same injury

I have a few stairs leading into house and family room so I would sit on stairs and use my arms to hoist me up the stairs, scooch on my butt and hoist myself onto couch

I developed terrible pain in left shoulder

I figured once I started walking again shoulder would improve but it didnt

I went to shoulder doctor couple weeks ago He xrayed and ordered MRI and I had cortisone shot which helped

I was having trouble sleeping from the shoulder pain

So yes, I guess using another part of your body to compensate for the other creates injury He said I have impingement in Shoulder told me do PT for few visits which I havent scheduled yet but I will

I did physical therapy for ankle and shoulder. It's helped and I recommend going. I just want to feel pain free. Getting there. Thanks for response.
