Shoulder Injury

I can be very specific. Hoping to get some general feedback. I was performing incline dumbbell bench press (not a lot of weight, but it was a later rep and I was fatigued). My weaker arm gave out at the top of the press. My arm was nearly fully extended, and I think I brought the weight too far inward on the way up (toward my other arm), putting too much tension on ligaments, etc.  There was a pop and my arm fell down to my opposite chest. It was not extremely painful nor did I see any signs of inflammation or loss in mobility after. It felt slightly painful for a week (maybe really painful but just kind of weird), and then did not hurt at all. Granted, I was not lifting anymore to let it recover. What concerns me is it has been a month and a half. It does not hurt, but I find I struggle to stabilize from certain positions now that I am working out again. My shoulder can handle weight, but it cannot stabilize a dumbbell, for example, for any vertical motion. So I cannot do dumbbell incline bench press or shoulder press, even with really light weight. However, if I use a machine where I do not need to stabilize, I lift heavy weight just fine. Flat bench with dumbbells is also fine for me. I was wondering what specific issue you think my shoulder has, and if you think I should just keep working out but avoiding anything requiring vertical stability. I prioritize letting it heal over anything else.
