for years now even since before my fibro was diagnosed I have had a very sore left shoulder 2 the point of pain keeping me awake for a while now things have definitely got worse my whole arm aches I have seen me when lying down actually picking My arm up rather than lifting it as it's seems less sore.

years ago I was attending a chiropractor he advised me to put it in a sling or put my hand in my pocket 2 stop movement that's how I know this is worse as no movement gives pain now it's just ALWAYS sore

any1 else have this even at rest it's agony and constant mostly effects the top half of my arm but does travel 2 fingers at times

Hi Chris, I have been suffering the same symptoms you describe for about 8 months. I saw my GP a couple of weeks ago and after examining me he said I have 'shoulder impingement syndrome.'  Have you seen your GP about it? I have to go for an ultrasound of my shoulder and possibly have a steroid injection into it at the same time. x

    Hi Chris,

I have exactly the same problem with my left arm. It is so bad all of the time that I cant even hold a phone to my ear. (my right arm, shoulder aches also but nothing compared to the left)

The rest of my left arm also constantly hurts and also my little & ring fingers - I often get either sharp shooting pains or pins and needles.

Sleeping is a nightmare as I can never get my arm comfortable or in a pain free position

I had the steroid injection last week, that was great for a few days but now it's just as bad as before?

Anyway, I had my long awaited rheumatologist appointment this week and she says that I don't have Fibro but Hypermobility Syndrome. Are you double jointed? If you are it maybe worth asking your GP about it. I don't know too much about the condition yet so don't want to offer any advice incase it is incorrect but it may be worth looking into

    feel better soon x

I had similar symptoms for over a year.  Sometimes it would hurt down my arm, other times like someone had shot through it, pain in the front and behind.  I was doubted because the pain moved.  For a long time, I couldn't even lift my arm up without wanting to cry.  I had an MRI that showed nothing.  Also a nerve test where they zapped me while my hand was in water.  I started Gabapentin and tramadol and it did go away finally, a little at a time, but I understand how miserable it makes a person.  It hurt so bad that I couldn't lay down for more than 4 hours at a time.  I was so tired all the time and I would get up, take a hydrocodone, and walk in circles crying until it kicked in.

I tried to cut my Gabapentin down and it came back, so I know that is what is cutting the pain for me.

Good luck, it looks like there are a lot of different reasons/solutions for the pain.  I hope you find whatever it is that is causing it.
