Shoulder pain

I am having left shoulder pain from past 5 years. It is episodic, initially used to oocur for every 3 months and then every 5-6 months. Once it appears I used to take pain killers and after 7-10 days it will go off. But from last year for about 10-11 months i did not had the pain. In start of JUL 2016, the left shoulder pain reappeared and this time it took a month to go away. In between i have consulted couple of doctors where X-ray was done and they said no problem in shoulder bone one physician said it is muscle tightening nothing problem and prescribed pain killer. Another physician said that it might me muscle tear nothing to worry it will go by itself.

After a month the pain went away. But now in AUG-2016 I am experiencing Same kind of pain in right shoulder, which I was not experineced this pain in right hand before..

symptoms are similar to frozen shoulder and rotator cuff injuries but both were rulled by all physicains.

Can anybody help  me to find out in this diagnosis and treatment.

thank you

Sounds like you need further imaging on that shoulder, xrays only show so much. I had similar issues for years and finally a doctor did the further imaging to discover some structural issues resulting in an acromial decompression surgery.  I'm currently recuperating and expect good results. Have you talked to your doctor about an MRI or specialized shoulder imaging?  What kind of doctor are you seeing? Do you have a specialist? I got the best results with a sports medicine doctor. Hope you get some relief. T

I've been having the same issues, been going on for four/five years off and on. I was given a steroid shot each time but you can only have so many of those! This time it's been four months in constant pain (both shoulders), I was referred to have an Ultrasound of shoulders which showed Rotator cuff Tears, Calcium deposits, and something to do with muscle coming away from the bone. I'm seea surgeon in September. I think you should go back to your doctor and ask to be referred for Ultrasound too, gooduck .
