Shoulder pain description?

hi all...

I've begun dealing with PMR for 5 years now and was down to .5 mg per day. recently however I've had very severe shoulder pain primarily on my right shoulder.. progressively getting worse over 2 weeks. the onset wad in response to having to cut a lot of downed trees with a chain saw due to a severe winter ice storm.

two questions... could the strain on my right shoulder have TRIGGERED an episode of PMR?

Secondly... what exactly does PMR shoulder pain feel like?

this group has begun a life saver for me.

thanks in advance

Bob: If you have injured a muscle of tendon in your shoulder you might try heat, then cold method. Use a heating pad for 20 to 30 minutes, then an ice pack for the same time period. Repeat several times the first day and continue for several days to see if you get relief. The heat expands the muscle/tendon, the ice pack contracts it. Kind of like stretching and unstretching a rubber band....it makes it looser and more flexible over time. This may give relief, along with just letting your body heal itself over time, if you have actually injured a muscle or tendon, with the muscle healing more quickly than if it is an injured tendon, but both will benefit from this treatment. If it is a joint disorder, cortisone shots might be called for. Good luck.
