Shoulder pain, occassional tingling in fingers

Posted , 6 users are following.

hello,

i have had shoulder pain in my right shoulder for the last 4-5 months. this isn't severe and i am able to lead a very active life. i also have occasional tingling in my fingers of both hands.

i checked my fasting blood sugar in Jan 2019 and in Aug 2019 and both times my blood sugar levels were normal. my urine test was also normal for sugar.

any other possibilities for this pain and tingling?

It could be something totally unrelated to diabetes. I have had shoulder and neck pain on and off, with tingling, for 50 years and it is treated with osteopathy to relax the muscles and move the neck. I also have occasional bouts of bursitis, when the shoulder joint becomes inflamed, also treated with osteopathy and anti-inflammatories.

Too many to list. Have you seen your doctor about it ?

Another question had you been prescribed Cipro or Fluoroquinolone antibiotics for any reason in the months prior to this starting ?

    update on this:

i did a blood sugar test last week, also kidney and liver functions test and everything is normal. my shoulder ache remains. i had gone to a bone specialist in Aug and he did an Xray and diagnosed it as a bone spur.

in any case, i will go to a GP again and see what he says

I know of two people who had bone spurs removed by surgery. One was fine afterwards, the other went back to manual work too soon (threatened with sack of did not return, despite medical certificate saying to rest and do no heavy work for 3 months) and continued to have problems. Eventually forced to leave as could no longer do job. So you takes your choice!

How did it go at the GP?

I have multiple bone spurs in my neck and it has caused numbness and weakness down my arm and into my hand. I can see a spine consultant when i need to though because they're causing me a lot of problems.
