Shoulder sling

I am 7 weeks. Does anyone else revert back to the sling at night? Boy I just hate nights. All the evil pain comes out. I feel like a whim and keep having crying spells.

So sorry for your pain. It took a long time after my surgery to be able to sleep in my bed. I don't remember exactly how long I spent my nights in my recliner. I also used pain killers at night and before my therapy appointments for some time. (Although some people have a hard time with that, using the pain killers "part time" worked for me). Use lots of pillows, it helped me to put a pillow under my arm, "between my armpit and the bed" ?

Keep icing, do as your therapist says. This too shall pass. Keep the faith. Keep us posted and best wishes on your complete recovery.

Use the sling at night as long as it helps to relieve your pain. When I did take mine off at night I still had to prop and surround it with pillows for a while afterward. I am now almost at 6 months and there are still some nights where it feels more comfortable with a little pillow under it. This would be the case especially if you also had bicep tenodesis. It does take some time. I hope you get more relief soon...shoulder surgery is  not for sissies...it's tough!

SLOW and STEADY!!  We all go through this together.  You are doing a good job.  Cry when you must.  ICE, ICE, ICE.  Yes, use your sling if you must at night.  Use pillows to cradle your arm.  Prop up higher on the pillows.  This surgery, recovery, and rehab is a great big sobfest.  You will be okay.  It is temporary.  Ice if you need to even in bed!!  I do!!  YOU CAN DO IT!!!
