Yes, had ACJ exist on and Tenodesis.

Both very benign procedures with little complication.

What else would you like to know?

      Not particularly.

Some people report spasms and twitching with biceps surgery but it passes within a few weeks. I did not experience these issues myself - just tenderness and a bit of soreness for a couple of months.

About 4 , because I had a rotator cuff repair done at the samended time.

The number of incisions is not necessarily linked to the type of procedure, more it is about the surgeon's choice and technique. Small incisions heal quick and cause little pain. The pain comes from the surgical intervention inside the joint.

I've had open procedures that didn't hurt that much.

Yes I wonder if open surgery is less painful they say Arthroscopic Surgery is very painful but less painful than open Surgery

Like I said, it's not about whether it's open or arthroscopic, it's the work done inside that determines the pain. I've had some very painful arthroscopic surgery!

The reason that people believe open is more painful is that it sounds logical but really you have to consider why a surgeon is doing open surgery in the first place. These days open surgery is reserved for difficult revision rotator cuff repairs or big restabilisation procedures like the Bristol/Latarjet. Revision cuff repair is painful regardless of whether it's open or arthroscopic, as personal experience attests.

Then I don't understand why they say that,Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery is less, painful and faster healing

The reasons that surgeons prefer arthroscopy are:

      - you can see more in tighter spaces

      - less blood loss

      - less risk of infection

      - less visible scarring

Whether or not is is more or less painful is subject to much debate.

The reson surgeons tell you it's less painful is because that is an easy sell for patients. Most patients are less concerned with the other reasons I listed above and are more likely to be thinking about pain.

Hi there, did you notice any defect with the tenodesis is this a relatively new, procedure

What do you mean by defect? Do you mean does it feel defective or look defective? The answer of both of these is no.

I had my tenodesis is 2011. As far as I know, this procedure has been around for a number of years. It's tried and tested.

      Wow,OK my previous,surgeon never ever mentioned this,proceedure all I know,is that,a Tenodesis,is,far better than a Tenotomy

Does, the arm feel strange,as,the cut tendon would make it feel shorter
