If you had Shingles in your eye, or have a red scar on the transparent part of the eye or Cornea after shingles, please see an Ophthalmologist, immediately. Which country do you reside in? Any viral infection of the eye should be evaluated by an Ophthalmologist, an MD eye doctor, not a GP. Your vision cannot be properly assessed by the GP, either.
I am a Nurse Practitioner in the States an have had Herpes Zoster-Shingles in my eye twice, scleritis in both eyes many times, and recurrent Herpes Zoster-Shingles in my right ear every three to five weeks for the past twenty-one years.
Please let me know how you do.

I am in UK..after one week of shringle ,when I had been to GP ,they said it’s not infection in eye, just a scar and you don’t need to worry about that. But now it’s 7 weeks...So tomorrow I am going to specialist Eye hospital.Let’s see what will they say..

Hi Nidhi,
Glaucoma is easily treated with eye drops. It is caused by blockage of the aqueous humor, which increases the intraocular pressure of the eye. It is more common in individuals of Asian descent. When you go to the Ophthalmologist in the States, they always do a test for glaucoma.
Perhaps it is a blessing you had Shingles! Now, you will get the necessary treatment for glaucoma. The treatment does not hurt, and as long as you are faithful in seeing an excellent Ophthalmologist for follow up and use your ophthalmic drops as prescribed, you need not worry.
The symptoms of glaucoma include eye pain, redness, tearing, seeing halos, and headaches. There are two types of glaucoma, open and closed angle.
Please try not to worry. As long as it is treated properly, you will be fine.
As we age, we need to take care of ourselves more and go to Physicians more. Go with the flow and adapt to it.
You do need to find a better primary care physician, however. S-He knew nothing about the eye. That is dangerous and makes me wonder how much else s-he doesn't know.
Best Regards

Dear Merry,
Sorry for late reply & thanks for information.Ophthalmologist said my eye angle is prone to closure so refer me glaucoma clinic in another eye hospital. So I am waiting for my appointment over there..But she said they will do laser surgery ...I don’t know why she said for surgery not eye drops .I am 42 and nobody in my family had glaucoma..
I just got reading glasses as well ..
Kind regards
Nidhi
