You need to go back to the doctor Shelly and tell him or her about your weight loss. It may be something simple then can do to help you get back on track. Don't sit around worrying about what if's. Its better to get the help you need so your mind can rest and you can feel more relaxed. If you are all worried , your appetite will be lost as well as your digestive system will not help you to gain any weight, but do the opposite. I hope you make an appointment and get things sorted out.

                                         Blessings to you Shelly

I have IBS , I cut out wheat basically, gluten dont know if you tried this to see if it helps, so i dont eat bread, pastries, also i started to drink green tea, and peppermint tea, also lemon juice first thing in the morning, I am not sure if it helps as everyone is different I am trying different things as most of the time when i look at food it makes me feel sick. i hope you feel better, think you should have been given antibiotics if you have SIBO to clear it up

BIG Question: Is your weight loss from eating less, or are you still eating enough but losing weight anyway?

I have IBS, no SIBO. DO NOT give up gluten!!  There is a fair chance that you could have Coeliac Disease and you should be referred for testing. If you eliminate gluten, you'll throw off the results. No one should simply give up gluten without first being sure that ill-effects are 100% not Coeliac!!

Only roughly 1% of the population has this, so testing is still rare! But, of the patients with symptoms like yours, there are far too many who go undiagnosed for years or even decades. If you have testing done and you've had sufficient gluten but it shows that you do not have Coeliac, then it makes sense to eliminate gluten to see if that helps...and maybe other foods, too.

Keep a food diary for now, while you're waiting for more help.  Please do seek help, as this does sound serious.  Not "untreatable", just serious at this point.

Good Luck!! HUGS to you, Shelly!!

Where do you live? And why no insurance? I mean state wise no actual location do you live close to a teaching hospital? Most of them have financial aid and you can contact them they will fill out the info and tell you what you need to do. Also contact them and ask about insurance with Obama care you should be able to get Medicaid or state insurance. If you have a local teaching hospital they are usually attached to the college like university of Cincinnati is attached to UC hospital. Uk is attached to university of Kentucky.

There should be a website in Florida for insurance, you may qualify for state insurance at least here in ky you can go to the insurance website and investigate it.  I would try that and see if it works for you. Good luck let us know what you find out. I will bite my tongue to keep from saying something about the medical insurance bs. If I find any thing out I'll send you a message.

Good morning Shelly, I googled how to find health insurance in Florida. They have a web page that explains all the way you can get insurance pretty informative. One that has a link to one site as well as a phone number for health clinics that treat based on a sliding fee scale based on income. They will help you find one close to where you live. I use one of these. I have no insurance and did at one point but my insurance went from a reasonable amount to 2 1/2 times more and as I live on a fixed income, my husband is legally blind I cannot afford the amount it went up if I want to eat anyway. So I utilize the clinic. You may try that.  I hope this helps a little bit.

Hi, I also have SIBO and the antibiotics didn't work for me. I saw a dietician who recommended FODMAP for SIBO patients. Have u tried this? U can get an app or look online for the dietary info. I have managed to gain some weight using this smile

I'm surprised you actually got a doctor to diagnose sybo how are they treating it with what meds. And when you say saibo do you mean it started out with a candida outbreak or if it was something else please let me know this is what I think I had going on. If you have had all CTS MRIs and had showed no tumors then you need a upper and lower with your weight loss in that should along with the right blood work make you feel better I doubt you're dying look into leaky gut syndrome due to sybo or an overgrowth and you will understand you're probably not taking in the nutrition you should be and it screws you up big time that's what I'm going through I am iron deficient and need to find the underlying cause of that which I think is the same as what I just mentioned above not updating iron or other nutrients I need but have no weight issue at this time

Sorry for the misspellings I do talk to text can't type that much. And I mean uptaking of nutrition. What other medical conditions do you have and are you not on a FODMAP diet you cannot drink and you have to cut out any sugars even certain fruits if it's SIBO until it is under control

I just went on 100 milligrams a day of diflucan for 30 days to knock out a candida overgrowth

In the UK u have a hydrogen breath test for SIBO. Google it for info. The treatment is to take 2 lots of antibiotics together. I did this but I'm allergic to penicillin so took the alternative doxycycline with rifaxcimin. I got sick on them, couldn't stand up so had to stop. Then got referred to a dietician who recommended FODMAP to cut out the sugars

Ok thanks, im on fodmap but thought candida was a fungas not bavteria, but sibo is a bacteria overgrowth so i guess they great with antibitic as a general measure. Ask about a trial of diflucan, if it kills the candida then it should stop the overgrowth. But be on a good pre and probiotic.let us know how things go.
