sick note runs out sunday.

hi my sick note from hospital finishes on sunday it was for 6 weeks.will doc backdate for my new note?

      thanks. can phone tomorrow but dont think they pre date.so hoping they can back date on mon. just my work need one on monday.

      Thanks - that was fun, trying to remember my password for the computer.

      Amazing how tiring it is getting up early. Also must remember to move about the office more next week, I was getting quite stiff there.

      So it went ok then, that's good.  I got them to write down my number to get in the building,because I know I will forget it when the time comes to go back lol

    I expect so. Ring the surgery tomorrow. At my surgery it was all done by phone, they asked when the previous note ran out and then made out the next one to be continuous. It was ready for my husband to pick up that evening. At 12 weeks I saw the GP and asked him to fill out the next one  as needing a phased return.

    Mine did the first time. Second time (another doc), he decided I would be fine because I do desk work. Obviously has no idea how painful sitting down can be.

    I am retired from my career, but continue with volunteer work, so I can really pace myself and do some of my work from home.

    Howver, I would not be able to work full time again for a while (I am six weeks post LTHR with RTHR to be done late summer). Mobility would certainly limit me and I cannot sit for more than 30 minutes at a time, but energy low level (lack of sleep may be a factor)! would also limit me badly. I could not imagine returning for at least another 6 weeks. I sure hope your doctor understands how much this operation takes out of you.

    Yes if course he/she will and give you another if you don't feel up to going back yet. I know mines runs out on 2nd may. I have been of since november and had 2 my hips replaced in thal time. I will wait and see how l am on that date before l go back. If l still don't feel 100% then l will be getting another month. I am not rushing back.

    I  got mine yesterday, I'm the same as you,runs out on the 3rd. New one runs out the 18th May.They do backdate to I think.

    They can not post date a sick note - only back date one. Mine ran out on Good Friday and I had to wait until the following Tuesday the request one. 

    I would call work and tell them that as you will be getting another sick note, they should not expect you in - keep them informed and they should be happy as they can organise stuff.

    hi all i phoned my doctors this morning and requested a further  6 weeks as suggested by my consultant.

    my wife has just been to collect it and the doctor note says i am unfit for work.This will be the case for 4 weeks from today so note will run out on 29th April.

    There is a bit on the note that says "i will/will not need to assess your fitness for work again at the end of this period.

    The doctor has crossed out the "will" part.

    So does this mean that i phone up for the other 2 weeks just before note runs out again?

    I am due to see consultant on 11th april so will discuss what he thinks of my progress.
