Someone asked me how I coped with fibroids!!  Fibro really doesn't seem to be wellknown outside of suffers although it was the most Googled illness last year...

Hi lozzer71 Unfortunatly for us no one seems to understand fibro at all. only those that have it. its not well known even though its been around for years years years. health proffessionals and gps need to be better educated in it and needs to be put out their more like MS is. Its not an easy condition to live with. you go through different emotions with fibro you grieve for the person you once were anger, denial and finally acceptance. people dont seem to care or want to know where fibro is concerned thats what Ive found since having it. take care

Early days yet for you. You need time to accept and work with it.  I don't bother trying to explain because I can't even explain it to myself!   If you had anything like I did when diagnosed (consultant just wrote it on a piece of paper and said look it up we don't treat it and then discharged me back to GP) then you will take time.  You are in the best place here where you will not be judged on what you can't/can do or how you feel. We all support each other and no question is too silly to ask.  All I would say is be kind to yourself, learn to say no.  Fibro is different for all of us and what works for one will not necessarily work for another. I use hypnotherapy, epsom salt baths, supplements and gentle exercise. I have removed gluten and all refined sugars from my diet and I find it helps me, but I am not you. Good luck in finding what helps you cope and remember you are only a click away from someone willing to listen.
