Sick of side effects? Thinking of getting off Amlodipine? Read please!

just want to provide some hope and a warning......First off, like many others, I went through a personal hell for nearly 4 months which included dry mouth, gum issues, oral thrush, pain/pressure in my ears, Tinnitus. Side effects may not rear their head for months, even YEARS, which makes the process that much more confusing. I never expected Amlodipine as the culprit. Neither did my doctor. Here's the important part: IT COULD TAKE WEEKS FOR THE SIDE EFFECTS TO SUBSIDE AFTER QUITTING Amlodipine. This was important for me because I stopped Amlodipine for 5 days and then restarted after figuring it wasn't the problem. i then suffered for several more months before reading someones post on Reddit which basically explained that it takes a loooong time for the side effects to go away. So, bottom line - give it time. We all want out of these situations, but it takes time. im 5 weeks off of the medication and STILL not 100%, but I feel a billion times better. Good luck!

I too have stopped taking amlodipine after years of this medication .

Fed up with feeling tired ,depressed and generally unwell.

Swollen legs and feet so red and painful I was unable to walk far .

I never considered it could be amlodipine until by chance I read an article about the causes of swollen leg which listed Blood pressure medication .

    I could cry , I feel so well .

I have more energy , not gasping for breath or coughing like I was.

I feel so much happier and no painful swollen red legs ankles and feet .

If only I had known earlier .

Its only been 2 weeks , hopefully I will carry on feeling the best I have felt for years .

Good Luck to you, I hope you have the same results as me.
