Sick with fear

I am getting really bad anxiety ?? I worry that i might die like if i get nausea i think it's poisoning or severe illness , if i get a lump in my throat or dry mouth i tell myself it's rabies or that i'm choking. Often i worry that a neighbour is going to hurt me or that police are going to get me for nothing . I feel too anxious to go out due to my epilepsy because i once fractured my skull causing a clot . I hate it

you picked the right place to come. You will get a lot of support here. Anxiety is a truly nasty thing and one of the first and major symptoms is your mind telling you truly terrible things that are all NOT TRUE. This is your mind and just thoughts. Every single one of us is familiar with what you are going through.so you are not alone. I believe you will get a lot of input that will help. For now, the main thing you need to hear and believe is that these are just thoughts and to say that and know that every time one comes up. Heads up. Pixie, we are here to help as all of us have gotten help here.

Thank you as you know Anxiety is hard to talk about especially with people that don't understand ?? I even had a doctor laugh at me. I'm glad i came here ??

Oh no... that is the worst, a doctor who makes fun of a patient.  I am sorry that happened to you, Pixie.  I had a nurse practitioner laugh at me two years ago when I went in with panic attacks.  She was out in the hallway talking with my nurse.  I know how that hurts.

So are we, pixie. Keep reading posts, and keep asking questions or offering advice. Seems that no matter what time it is, it's not long until as answer comes. I had been a counselor for years before retirement, but didn't realize what anxiety really was like. I now know that most doctors don't have a clue either. I am going to have to go to battle with mine tomorrow. In a strange way, I am glad she made the mistake she did with a medication that threw me into this, because I have found this site where help is available for me, and where I can be of assistance to others. Since retirement, i have missed being able to help. Love to you, girl.

Elizabeth, you seem quite knowledgeable. I am getting swollen legs and feet. Does that ever happen with anxiety? I don't know if it's that, or if it is the Clonidine I am taking. Regards, Cia

Hi Cia, I have not heard of that... would definitely check on medication side effects and see what doctor says.

Hi Pixie, I know something of how you feel with having something else plus anxiety, in your case epilepsy and in mine Crohn's disease.  Our minds tell us so much that isn't true.  I struggle too but there are many wonderful people here and lots of support.  Keep coming back, don't go it alone.  Take care. x
