side affects of orlistat

sad i have had a terrible tension headache for two wekks now and very bad bloating which has made me feel worse, i feel bigger than ever and can't fit in my normal size clothes i have only been on orlistat for two weeks and i have had enough. i do know people who have had great sucess with the drug. i also work for a gp and have seen the results but for me i will have to do it without the drug and hope i lose the stone and a half i put on. I have been back to my own gp and was told that the bloating would soon go has anyone had the same symptoms has i am having now.

I have been fortunate and not had any problems with headaches.

However i did experience the bloating. I thought I had experienced it as bad as it could be (gallstones and all) but nothing like the bout I had when 1st on Orlistat.

For me, slightly increasing the fat intake sorted it out as it gave the tabs something to \"bite on\".

if this makes any sense then great!

    Hi BB

Are you drinking enough water :?: - the headaches could be due to you being dehydrated, step up your fluid amount and you should hopefully get less headaches.

On the bloating front have you tried Activia yoghurt :?: They are fat free and 71kcals per pot. Since I've been having one daily I've experience less bloating and also less gurgling of the tummy - I suffer with IBS so had major problems with both of these even before having the tablets.

    Hope this helps.
