Side effects?

Hi Everyone,
Ive been on Sertraline since September. I’ve been working up to 150mg. I was at 100mg for about 8 weeks then 125mg for 2 weeks, now at 150mg for the last 10days. I thought that going up 25mg would minimise the side effects, but this weekend I have felt horrendous. My mind has been on overdrive and it’s been so hard to function. I’m getting very negative thoughts as well. I’ve felt very slightly better today so I’m hoping it will pass. My question is how have other people felt going up to 150mg and did the side effects last longer than 2 weeks? Also I’m not sure whether it is a side effect or if I would feel like this anyway. Any thoughts?

Hi, I have been on 150 for 5 weeks 5 days. I'm up and down with physical and mental symptom still but with less severity. As time has gone on I'm experiencing less moments of anxiety. Thoughts that race and jittery tummy, doom etc are still there but not all day like before.
Some people on here say it took 12 weeks before they felt better. I have been at 150 before and felt fine but I can't remember how long it took. I recall that it was ages but worth the wait.
give it the full 8 weeks to work and go back to docs if there has been no improvement.
good luck x

The side effects do last for quite a while to be honest. I think how I feel is a mixture of both but anxiety is such a terrible thing and it’s probably 95% anxiety. It makes my thoughts race, negative then I get stuck in the cycle.
It’s scary. However, I have been at 150 before and felt fine after a while.
We will get better Sarah. I’m trying to stay busy. If it’s any help to you, I’m starting to feel better slowly. It’s rocky and I’m up and down but it’s not lasting as long as before x

I've been on 50 for 24 weeks, 100 - 1 week
125 - 2 weeks, 150/175 - 2 weeks, 200 - 2 weeks and on 225 3 days.
There is a huge improvement ever since i initially commenced - sleep, anxiety and enegy but as you can see it takes a long time till you eventually hit the right dose so hang there and it will get better.

Hi Kerry
The sooner you take the correct dose the sooner you can start to combat those side affects 125 is the dose I'm on I would also give each increase at least 4 weeks to work x
