Side effects?

I started on 50mg of Sertraline just over four weeks ago and have experienced the whole range of side effects. For the last couple of days I've felt ok, just a bit woozy. This morning the V & D is back with a vengeance.
After this length of time I would expect the side effects to have abated somewhat and I am getting increasingly frustrated that I never know how I will be from one day to the next.
I am beginning to wonder, however, whether it is side effects of the Sertraline or just that I am run down and susceptible to the bugs that are going around. Any thoughts?

I'm not on sertraline but would say after 4 weeks side effects should be far less and calmed down - maybe worth a trip to your gp to check and put your mind at ease?

The side effects were worse in the first 2 weeks and then on and off. E.g. 4 good days, few bad days.
I'm also not sure with me whether drinking at the weekend increased my side effects and anxiety for a good few days after. I haven't drank for the last 3 weekends and had much better weeks. Where as I drank on weeks 5&6 and had bad weeks with anxiety.
There is a bug going around tho. Keep going, you're nearly there!

I know that feeling, not knowing how you will feel day to day its bad enough not knowing how you will feel emotionally let alone phisically. I think for those kind of symptoms after four weeks they could be due to a bug, run down ect. i would see if your doctor can rule this out before you blame the medication. Is it helping your other symptoms, i.e is it helping how you want it too. ?
Dont loose faith that you will eventually get this right for you x

I suffered a severe reaction to sertraline. I only took it for 26 days, but they were an evil 26 days. I had an upset stomach the whole time, I lost 7lbs, and had zero interest in food. But by far the worst was the way my anxiety increased by a factor of 1000000!
I felt far, far worse on sertraline than I had BEFORE taking it. My anxiety had only been a mild, niggling problem. But within 3 days of taking sertraline I was a basket case, terrified to be left alone, terrified of it getting dark outside, terrified of hearing the wind. Get the picture? During week three I had a few 'better days' but then my symptoms got even worse.
In desperation I went back to my GP, who said these symptoms were extreme and that I was one of the few who react very badly to sertraline (although there seems to be far more than just 'a few' people on here who really struggled with it).
It's worth checking back with your GP, just to see what they have to say.
