side effects

I am on day 2 of 10mg and so far I feel for moments like I am on speed. Today I have numbness in my left arm and a strange feeling in my upper back on the left side. Not sure if it is normal or something different going on. I have read a lot of things people speak of but none of these symptoms. I kind of want to just stop because of these weird feelings. Feel like it would be better to stop now if I do rather than keep going and not like the side effects later an stop.

What your feeling is just probably the anxiety rather than the CIT so try to persevere as you will be glad you did. Anxiety can make u think ur having all sorts of things and it feels real but isnt.

Hi ann. I find your posts very helpful. I have been on 10mg for citalopram and have had some awful side effects. Increased anxiety. Sleeping problems. Lack of appetite. My main problem was anxiety but I feel depressed and panicky every morning although it does pass sometimes. Is this normal? Laura x

you have to commit for 4 weeks to cit, to give it a chance to build up.. i found it very helpful last year, and although i had 'side effects' such as nausea and loss of appetite, ( i was given 20mg) these were already there as part of the anxiety/depression. try lying in a hot bath and see if it helps your muscles relax and regain feeling? stick with it if you can, but if it doenst feel right go back to the doc and tell them exactly whats going on

Hi SpunkTee, you will be fine, just stick with the 10mgs, things will become clearer, I assume you will be returning to see your doctor son, be prepared to have your dosage increased as 10mg is just a starting dose to get your body in line with any side effects...

I've been on 10mg of CIT for 2 seeks & didn't see any difference.

I revisited my doctors & I'm now on 20mgs of CIT, but I'm still waiting for something to happen, I know there isn't a quick fix or a magic tablet, but sitting thinking about when will something happen isn't helping.

i wanted to talk to my doc about taking some time off work, but I couldn't even do that, I'm really struggling at work, but I also don't want to take time off as when I return I will have to be managed under my employers absence policy, so time off will just be stressful.

    thanks all
