Side effects after 2 weeks.

Hi everyone,

After fighting anxiety for 10 years, I finally took the doctor's advice and starting taking SSRIs. The first week was pretty awful. I felt spaced out, drugged, nauseous, no appetite, extreme fatigue, etc. However, after 2 weeks of taking Sertraline I feel like a whole new person. I don't have excessive worry, I can fall asleep at night, I am laughing and being more outgoing, and I have so much more energy. I have rediscovered the 'fun' side of myself that I believed was gone forever. The only issue I have are a few new side effects I have discovered. I am getting random hot flushes and sweating episodes, and my pupils are huge at sporadic times of the day. Are these normal side effects?

I appreciate any replies.

Well done you for taking the plunge and it is good to hear you are on your way to recovery. Yes the flushes are a side effect and will come and go just let them be and if anyone comments on them just tell them it is the medication you are on, that usually stops any further discussion. Not to put a downer on it but you may find you have a couple of off days whilst the meds are still getting stable in your system, this is nothing to worry about and does not mean you are going backwards
