Side Effects and Withdrawal Effects

Evening All,
I have been taking sertraline now for just over a year due to health anxiety, I started off on 25mg and slowly increasing to 100mg where I was comfortable I was also taking propanranol at the same time to combat heart pulpertations etc, I went to my GP last week as for the last 4/5 weeks I have been getting really bad night sweats and I was concerned that this was something new as I have been on sertraline for a year and was convinced that any side effect I should have felt way before now, he said that it is a very common side effect and it is more than likely the sertraline, the night sweats aren't drenching but they wake me up about 6 times and night and I am wet on the back of my neck, between my breasts and my knees which is really uncomfortable, wondered if anyone else gets the sweats? I am also sweating first thing in the morning and not sure if it is the tablets at all?! My GP wants to wean me off them now to see if it is them!! He wanted me to go cold turkey which I tried but omg that won't work so I've tried taking them every other day at the moment, I have ditched the propanranol though, I don't expect them to come out my system over night as it took months to get in my system!
Anyone else had difficulty coming off the tablets? Or sweating as a side effect whilst on them? X

Thanks for your reply, I did exactly that went on google and now I've convinced myself it's lymphoma as I do have a raised lymphnode in my neck which has been there a while.
The sweats are awful though and keep waking me up at night no matter how cold the room or what I am sleeping in, I do feel better with the sertraline but I don't know what to do for the best as I need sleep to function, I'm a working mum of 2 and if I don't get good sleep then my anxiety etc is worse but then saying that when I have a good night sleep then Alps good and I don't worry so much.
I didn't have the sweats in the beginning taking this med it's only been since my dose was increased that they have come on.
I am worried it's something else I won't lie, I've one of those brains that overreacts and thinks the worse all the time lol
Hmmmmm what to do x

Hi Emma I just wanted to say I agree with what weenett has said
If they are helping you don't come off just to see if it is the tablets
Which it probably is.

I've noticed an increase with hot flashes, especially after morning coffee, which of course is hot 😝.
Did you get any relief from depression and anxiety on the Zoloft? I'm thinking must not have been too great if you are getting off.
I have been on Zoloft 50mg for a month, and I'm thinking maybe I should get off before there's a big build up in my system. It seems I have worse mood swings and anxiety, if anything.

It has helped massively with my anxiety yes but I feel like I am at the stage now where I can cope, a lot of my anxiety is built around health anxiety rather than GAD and a lot of my health anxiety fears have been laid to rest due to various tests etc, that said I am more than happy to continue the sertraline but I am suffering with really bad night sweats and the doctors are convinced it's the sertraline which yes it well may be but they have arranged bloods to rule out anything sinester.
How have you found the sertraline, if you can stick it out its a pretty good one to take x

Hi Em,
I've been taking 50mg of Sertraline now for nearly Six weeks, my side effects in the beginning were loss of appetite, a Warm tingly sensation throughout my whole body. Hot flushes and sweating bouts which I still get from time to time, but I sleep soundly and undisturbed.
