Hi there ,new to this group and thank you for adding me.I have been on Bisoprolol 5 mg for several yrs.I take this for HB P only.For several months I have felt ill about 2 hrs after taking meds.i feel sick ,lightheaded woolly not me,I am also very tired and have suffered having dreams for a long time . By early evening  I start to feel better.I monitor my own BP which can be middle range.Occasionallh this is higher. I would welcome replies .

    5mgs? Blimey, that's high. Have a word with the doctor, try to get it done to 1.25mgs  twice a day. Bisoprolol is notorious for these side effects.

      Hi I am on cardicor 1.25 mgms a day  and valsartan 80 mgms a day  it makes me feel very ill. xx

    Hi, I was only on 1.25mg which I ended up cutting in half and still I felt all the side effects. I was tired all the time the best way I can discribe it is like a zombie. It took my heart rate very low and it made me feel tired all the time. I had could not sleep well ad when I dd I had night mares. I was finally weaned off them I had withdrawals but am ok now. Been off them for close to 4 weeks now. U r not alone

      Hi How long were u taking the bis for? I am 1.25 mgms of cardicor and am in a terrible state. Can't wait to get off it, been on it since 2008 then 12 mionths ago started with persistent cough driving me nuts. xx

      I was only on it for a month but could not cope with them. I was on them for blood pressure. Even half a tablet gave me the same side effects as taking the full tablet 1.25. Whenever I complained my doctor said I was in such a small dose that it could not give me the side effects. In the end I had to take a stand. And she weaned me off. Now I feel so much better ad I keep praying that I stay off it for good

    Tessietom, so you were on Bisoprolol for several years with no problems and now all of a sudden you are getting the same side effects as those of us who only just started taking them and feel so ill right away?

    I wonder if they changed the formula or made a batch wrong?

      Hi again. I am on Cardicor 1.25 mgms a day. Merck  is the manufacturer. I just can't take any other brand but this is causing lots of problems for over a year now . Been on it since 2008,so u could be right  about hanging the formula, we will never find out of course!!!

      ?Same happened with phenytoin about 4 years ago when Flynn Pharma took over when the patent ran out with Pfizer . Lots of people started having seizures and auras yet had been sz free for years. I had to come off phenytoin as causes breathlessness, kidney damage, suicidal ideation etc, etc. 

      ?These drugs contain binders and fillers such as maize starch/corn, amaranth, soy, aspartame, gluten . talc, all sports of rubbish as bulking agents, Need allergy tests doing by an Immunologist etc. Available on the NHs.x

      Drugs contain binders and fillers such as maize starch/corn, amaranth, gluten, soy, aspartame. Need immunology testing for any allergies food or otherwise. The colourants are toxic too. Minefield ot there , this happened with phenytoin a few years ago when Pfizer patent ran out and it went to Flynn Pharma , people with epilepsy started having fits , auras again when FP started to manufacture the drug..
