Side effects from betamethasone?

Hi everyone!

I was prescribed betamethasone for contact dermatitis. The area affected is about the size of an index card; and I've been using about a dime's worth of cream 2x a day.

I have had some weird side effects and didn't know if anyone else had experienced them:

anxiety (not uncommon for an oral steroid, but the pharmacist said not likely from topical)

dry mouth

flushing face

generalized burning all over upper body (in areas where cream does not touch)

today was my last day (hopefully!) on the cream. 

Any insights would be much appreciated!
