I've been 5mg of lexapro for a month now and out of nowhere I was walking up in a panic and I couldn't sleep for nights because of fear of waking up like that . I started not having an appetite and brain fog and low fevers . Called doc she is tapering me off of it . I just don't feel myself and I wonder if anyone has experienced this also . Another thing is I have a fear of being alone specially at night

I am on Lexapro and I take 5mg doc says I need to take the full 10. I still wake up panicking some nights and it's been two months. She thinks I need to higher dose but I'm not sure. I do have horrible health anxiety and I have some actual health problems mostly GI related. I hate being alone since all of my issues started. I think that's just my anxiety.

Oh really ? I believe it's the medicine that makes me wake up all panicked . I've noticed alot of people on lexapro start having this symptom it's making me sleep deprived . But my doc thinks I need to go off of if

Hi there. I'm on 20 mg for 6 weeks tomorrow. And I still have anxiety. From everything I've learned from this site and research, anxiety is a side effect. It's supposed to subside eventually, but mine hasn't yet. But I understand about being alone. When I'm alone, which is most of the day, my mind goes into overdrive. I'm tired from not sleeping well either, especially in the morning, and I try to keep busy, but I'm too tired. So it's a bit of a vicious cycle. Please let us know how you're doing and if you're going to start another medication. I'm considering starting a new medication. I was in Effexor XR for 12+ years, but the generic was discontinued and I was placed on another generic that didn't work so well. I'm thinking if I just went with the name brand and paid what it would cost I'd be better off than sitting through this waiting game of hoping the side effects go away.

Hello! You sound just like me! I was on lexapro 5mg for a month and it was giving me all the side affects you are describing. I lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks because of my loss of appetite. She cut me down to 2.5 mg, however, I was getting terrible suicidal thoughts so I'm now off lexapro and on a beta blocker. Lexapro did not work for me and you might be the same way. I still don't feel myself, but I'm hoping once the lexapro is out of my system I will! You're in my prayers!
