Hi I have been on prozac off and on for 20yrs. This is the first time I have been given 40mg as 20mg was not working.since taking this dosage I am shattered got a lump on my left hand which is effecting my fine motor skills. Has anyone else suffered these symptoms? I have been referred to hospital to go on mood stabilisers also which I have never been on before. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    hello alisonjane,

must admit I've never heard of anybody having lumps appear as a result of the Fluoxetine, I should get the lump checked by a doctor for peace of mind. I was on 20mgs myself for 8 weeks then upped to 40 mgs around 6 weeks ago and it is a long drawn out haul to even begin to feel anything like "normal", by now I am having more good days than bad so the tide has turned, but when I do have a bad couple of days it is very disheartening, takes an awful lot to convince yourself it's only temporary. Can comment on the mood stabilisers as I have'nt heard of them, so I hope they do work for you smile if this is your first visit to this site then welcome aboard! It is a great source of information and encouragment from people all at various stages of the Fluoxetine journey, they are an inspiration on a dark day. Best wishes to you in your treatment and recovery, please keep in touch. DavidĀ cheesygrin

    Hi Alisonjane

I am also on the same dosage of Fluoxetine and I find it makes me very tired. I have started taking it in the late evening as it was making me feel very drowsy taking it during the day. Hopes this helps.

Thanks Jbee think i will try that. Doctor says to take it in the morning but im shattered the rest of the day and just want to sleep then can't at night. I have read up on mood stabilisers and not looking forward to going on them but if it helps in the long run then i will put up with the side effects for a little while.
