I started on 50mg. First 5 days were the worst, after 2 weeks I started to feel more like me again. Dipped in mood again weeks 3-4 (nothing as bad as the first week or pre meds tho) but continued with them and after week 8 felt totally fine!
They get easier and easier and the side effects lessen.
I've taken them for 8 months now and I'm now weaning off them as I feel loads better! Good luck :-)

What worked for me to ease it was getting out of the house and getting distraction. I was so lucky to have a very supportive family and for the first couple of weeks I spent time with different members just hanging out with them; just to have company and distraction and leave my house!
Also remember this isn't forever, for the first couple of weeks anxiety will probably be on and off. Remember if you feel anxious in the morning, that doesn't mean you will feel anxious for the day, it may only be for the next hour.
It will get easier, like I said the first few days are the worse and you're over halfway through that!
These have really worked for me - lots of life events had made me feel anxious(including health anxiety) and I also had mild depression. I ended up having a break down whilst waiting for results (not medical). Sertraline took me back to being me, I finished counselling and accepted things and like I said, I can now come off them!

Try to not put off driving your van - have you any supportive family or friends that can go for a drive with you? Try face the anxieties. I know its hard, I had a couple of panic attacks within a couple of weeks before I started these and I avoided going to see the people who's houses it had happened in for weeks! Then it was a big deal when I couldn't avoid them any longer and had to see them. I'm fine now tho!
Have you had any counselling or CBT for your anxiety? I would highly recommend for long term. Anxiety is so awful to live with.

I'm so pleased you're feeling a bit better and that the other medication is helping! The first few days really are the worse.
There may be dips in mood/anxiety over the next few weeks, but please don't be disheartened - especially if you've been feeling good for a few days. Just remember it doesn't last forever! It took 8 weeks for them to properly work for me - but nothing was as bad as the first few days.
Have you been out in your van yet? Are you feeling better about your mum being away?
I'm good thank you :-)
