Side Effects still persistent

Posted , 4 users are following.

I have been on Sertraline for 8 months now and have gradually upped my dosage from 25mg to 250 mg.

There is improvement but still have severe side effects - Extreme Fatigue, Sleepiness, stiff muscles, tinnitus with other cognitive issues.

Suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Isn’t 200mg the advised maximum? I have no side effects, I am lucky. Could you try another? Weening off will be very difficult though! How bad were you 8 months ago?

Not as bad atleast in terms of fatigue.

Ive heard people have gone upto 350 also, depends on every individual.

Overall I'm better in terms of anxiety and sleep is now normal that too without sleeping pills.

      Have got GAD since childhood.

Hi. I restarted setraline the end of November. Had been weaning off but went back to 50mg. I’ve had tinnitus for a long time but habituated. Immediately the T became worse and I panicked leading to clinical depression. Mid December GP doubled up dose as I was having suicidal thoughts. Side effects, who knows. Again, immediately I developed T in my other ear and the original noises ramped up. I had all the lovely symptoms that you are having too. I couldn’t get out of bed and went to stay with family for a week.

My tale of woe but I’m able to get dressed now which wasn’t possible.

Please phone your GP and be honest about how you are feeling. You might need to have a complete review of meds and perhaps some talking therapy. It’s miserable but it won’t always be like this for you x

My recommendation is to talk to your doctor if you haven't done so already, 250 mg is a very high dosage and at what cost?

Doctors are only on trial and error basis when it comes to mental illnesses as it doesn't have a pattern treatment and is very subjective hence forums like these to help each other.
