Today my left side of my neck and lower cheek feel a bit tight and stiff. Anybody else get this with anxiety? By the way I've been to doctors and er and I'm healthy as can be.

I have neck pain and the side of my head as well. Everyone experiences anxiety differently but there are still sometimes similarities.

A no win situation. I get anxiety from anxiety. Meditation does seem to help though. In reality, the worse thing to do is being on the computer during this time. Makes it worse. Lol

I answered a post this morning

You can also try a warm/hot compress around your neck. Heat a towel in hot water drain and wrap around your sore area.

You can get these proper raps at a chemist, they contain dried peas or a form of jell that retains heat. They do work, if you then put NSID ointment on your neck afterwards the heat would have opened up the pores of the skin and that will help it soak up the ointment

    Hello.

Had the same issue this mornin when I woke up. Neck was tight and a bit painful. Middle of chest was also a bit ache. Freaked me the hell out! Finally calmed down after I took a nice hot bath. I've been to 2 doctors and a ER over the past year and they have all told me it's anxiety which I still find hard to believe. Just have to take it 1 day at a time I Guess!

    Hope you feel better soon!

I get this all the time when im overly anxious, esp my neck and throat area -it gets soo tight sometimes and its so uncomfortable. I can only assume its my anxiety bc whenever im distracted it goes away. Lately i have been extra anxious and now having the face tightness on my left cheek, it feels tight and numb and almost like a charlie horsing sometimes. Ughhh!

Yes! Sometimes it is just one side, sometimes both. My jaw area/cheek get numb feeling... but not really numb because I can still feel it? Doesn’t make sense, I know. But it’s really hard to explain.

Hi Mr. Lopez, hopefully your anxiety induced tachycardia is subsiding along with your facial muscles. I always urge everyone to speak with their family care physician before making any medical decisions. But if you have already consulted with your M.D. or D.O. and they have cleared your health than you can rest assured it’s nothing major. Are Monday’s a stressful day for you? There are many different variables as to why you would have facial tension. It’s unlikely that it be facial neuralgia or else your physician would have most likely picked up on it. If the symptoms do not subside or even worsen than please redirect your schedule to fit in your physician as soon as possible! But usually if you’re having anxiety and releasing stress hormones than you’ll get an array of symptoms that can range from minor headaches and fatigue, all the way to crippling body pain and body dysfunctions, especially within the digestive system. Try to remain calm, massage your face and drink plenty of water as your muscles are mainly made up of water it’s important to keep them hydrated so they can continue to work efficiently, hopefully everything works out Mr. Lopez, you’re not alone. Happy Monday!
