Silent reflux nightmare ?

I have been on omeprozole a long time for reflux and it's worked fine . I still have no heartburn or reflux that I know of . But for past month have had a sore throat and lump just behind where tongue drops down throat . Also a constant coldness in mouth and back of throat even spreading to nasal area . I just don't understand as omeprozole can't be working

    Iv got that lump too. No cold feeling tho. But ENT said I was seeing lower tonsils. He said there's upper and lower. I never knew tht. Acid can irritate..it gets sore in tht area like a raw feeling sometimes..

    Maybe it could be lower tonsils. But I get little pieces of food stuck . Did yours do that

      It has. But not often. But yes, I have done that as well. Iv had a scope down my nose into throat, he claims it's lower tonsil..so...I go back in 3 weeks and I'm going to draw a picture for him and show him where it's at. It is right beside the epiglotis. My dr. Said I can't c the epiglotis but yes I can..I took flashlight and did like a gag reflex and it pops up beside the epiglotis..always something to worry about..does your ever get a Lil burn like feeling? Like it gets a Lil raw sometimes..

      Hi . Yes it does get that burn sensation and I have seen my epiglotis too. I had the scope yesterday and he said throat inflamed along with voice box . Silent acid reflux is causing it . He wants me to change eating habits and tp reduce stress . I just hope he's right

      Yep same here. Had scope with very irritated throat. Silent reflux but last night it woke up. Had horrible burning pain in throat from acid. Hate to take nexium. Yet may need to get back on it. I sure dnt want to go thru what I went through last night. Awful. Well right beside my epiglotis is where I see like a polyp looking thing. Yet it's on other side too across just not as big. Yet my ent did scope and claims nothing, just the lower tonsil. I sure hope he's right too..

      It's so horrible when it wakes you up. I've had that . It makes you choke . And it takes ages to settle . Do you get the coldness at all . I'm on omeprozole but it's not helping like it used to. What is nexium

      No, I don't get a cold feeling..just pain in throat and like a bubbling up in throat and horrible burning..ahhhh awful..Nexium is what my ENT put me on. You can get it over the counter too. Mine was prescription, but so expensive. SO he told me I could do generic of it which I got otc..I strted back on it a couple days ago because my throat is very red again and irritated..just don't know wht to do. Hate takin ppi's cuz of side effects..

      Hi mine is similar to yours and driving me mad . Is nexium better then omeprozole

      Not sure. Different for different ppl..some say it is..it works for me..wink
