Simvastatin side effect

Hi I have been on simvastatin now for seven years and I have been suffering from muscle pain and weakness and also a sore shoulder and very low energy never really put it down to the simvastatin but recently read a article on statins this led me to look into it more and I am shocked in finding so much peaple suffering with thus drug I have now stopped taking simvastatin to see if my symtoms will go I was wondering if any one else has stopped there statin and how long before you started feeling well again and what else could I do to help my recovery

    Well it's been over two months since my last statin I am generally feeling better my energy levels have risen, the pain in my foot is gone immediately after stopping I still have shoulder and back pain on bad days  hopefully after time this will go too

    im 46..i started atorvastatin 20mg dec8 2014 , after 30 days i told my GP that my Blood pressure increased since i started taking it..... he gave me today simvastatin 20mg 28 tablets ... he told me this is more effective lowering cholesterol level...im confused now with too many bad side effect i read about simvastatin  ....... i will start taking it tonight 08Jan2015 ...what do ya think?
