Best and only way to minimise transmission is by avoiding outbreaks, using condoms *and* taking daily suppressive meds, unfortunately. If all three are done, I wouldn't bother with a dental dam. Nobody really uses those. Not even sure where to buy one where I am, lol.

If your partner knows the risk percentages, let him decide which level of risk he wants to take. He should read up and make an informed decision. What type do you have and for how long, btw?

P.S. Even if you covered your outer skin with something, you could still have an outbreak or shed internally, so there is literally no bandaid solution for GH.

You say even if I do use a barrier I can still spread yeah but if I'm not having an outbreak and am.keeping myslef healthy why not use the bandage. I won't pass it toy partner

Basically, HSV can shed at any time, without an outbreak or any symptoms, and when it sheds it is from anywhere in the anogenital region, so any combination of the cervix, vagina and/or anus in women. A bandage (do you mean a literal one?) would only cover the labial skin, so would do nothing to prevent the virus from getting on a man's penis when he enters.

The problem with herpes is that it can be infectious without outbreaks, and while staying healthy is good, it does little to reduce viral shedding, which occurs around 30% of the time at random and without warning or symptoms.

Thank you and no I wasn't talking about a bandage you out in ya skin if you get cut or something.. it's a concealer. that protects you from spreading the virus

Lol, thanks for the clarification. Was wondering what kind of bandage you were thinking of using! Still would have the same issues, though, unfortunately.
