Single bump on shaft of penis - Is it HPV or genital warts?

Posted , 10 users are following.

Several weeks ago I felt something raised on the shaft of my penis that had never been there before. I checked to see what it was and it was a little raised, pimple like bump midway up the shaft of my penis. It appears to be only one.

This was after I had broken up with a long term girlfriend and three things had happened since then.

1. I embarrassingly purchased a flesh light / sex toy (perhaps it was caused by the friction and not using enough lube).

2. I met another girl and was going to have sex with her, but we ended up not. We did however rub up against each other without clothes for a little bit prior to deciding not to have sex, so it very well could have been that. This was a random, one time type of deal and I no longer have contact with the girl, so I can't really ask if she had anything.

3. I shaved my pubes, but used an electric razor that perhaps wasn't the cleanest. Perhaps this could have caused it or maybe it is an ingrown hair?

I waited to see if this would go away on its own, and it hasn't. The bump is still there and is still by itself. It started kind of flesh colored, similar to my skin, but now sometimes looks a little white in the light, but also sometimes looks darker (in the pictures provided it seems darker).

I am going to be seeing a doctor soon, but I thought I'd post online to see if I can get any opinions on what it could possibly be.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. I'd be happy to clarify anything.

As we age our body’s do change. Sometimes it might appear scary at first but sometimes we have to learn to accept what happens.

First I will like to say sorry for the anxiety you might have.

Cosmetically this might just be a mole or a skin tag. Razors or machines might leave scars or trails on our skin.

Lastly I would assume a specific kind of HPV that might just be a one time thing since it’s alone and not in a room of clusters and using apple cider vinigar might speed up the the process of healing.

Question, is it dry? When it’s dry it’s matured as a wart. You can see it’s texture on the head if it’s slit and bumpy.

You might need a good spot light or magnified Glass to inspect it better.

I hope it’s a cosmetic issue and you get it zapped off but it will be wise to run a biopsy to get a peace of mind.

    Good luck

When you say use apple cider vinegar to speed up the process of healing, does that mean apply a little bit of apple cider vinegar to the bump, or by drinking a spoonful of apple cider vinegar every day?

The bump seems to be dry, but I will definitely need to get a magnifying glass or something to help see the texture on the head because it is quite small.

Thank you for the information and reply though, George. I appreciate it.

Just wanted to see if anyone else has any input on what this could be?

I have taken a better, more closeup picture if that will help.

    Hi

did you figure out what it was? I kinda have the same thing now.

I am not sexually active but I did have genital to genital contact with another person recently.

how did you go? I posted recently but noone has replied. I have one simple red bump on the tip of my penis...

Could be nothing. Could be Molluscum contagiosum, its hard to see the surface texture in the images. Look carefully under your pubic hair for other similar spots, including on the underside of the scrotum, sometimes easier to see / feel in the cold (odd I know)...

I have exactly this. I sent pictures to a sexual health nurse (and a doctor looked as part of that), and they said it didn't look like warts. They didn't seem concerned, but told me its probably worth a second opinion, and go to a clinic that specialises in that kind of thing.

The only difference with mine is that I have one on the header of mine as well. I'd been using a lot of moisturiser on it, and also a steroid cream for foreskin stretching. Mine was after no sexual contact for a few years, so I wondered if it was immune system related (the steroid cream was also an immuno-suppressant.

    Hello Lee,

Do you still have this as I have the same mysterious bump and have no clue to what it is.

Hospitals and Doctors are slightly difficult to get hold of right now so thought I'd try here first.

    Thanks.
