Single Right Side Inguinal & First Time In Hospital

I've been home less than 48Hrs after keyhole.  Surgery was late afternoon on Wednesday and I was home for the second half of the European footie.  I'm mid 40's (M) and I've been very fortunate in having only been to hospital previously for minor A&E issues.

Endorsing what many have said before - Lots of bloat, uncomfortable bloat, so I got stuck into the Lactulose straight away.   Sleeping was tricky other than on my back, due to the bloat. Not ideal as I struggle to sleep on my back.

After having had slightly more than the recommended (50% more) dose of lactulose I had a natural movement after 36 Hrs.  The first one was a drawn out affair , so be patient.

Still gassing up for fun but no longer as painful to pass gas.

A highly recommend from me is the use of 'Walking poles'.  Adjustable walking poles for getting in and out of the car, in and out of bed, up and down the stairs...

I also found holding just one pole,  directly out in front of you with both hands one top,  in the middle of your stance,  helps with straightening your posture.  I also used it for simple body rotations this morning, which again helps move any trapped wind around the body.

Not taken any meds so far but would say the bloat has been the worst part.

I look forward to getting back on the fells walking very soon and truly hope this is a positive start and a positive sign of things to come.....

So far so good, keep the faith and don't forget the walking poles.....
