Single small rash on finger

I recently developed a small, round, pimple-like raised rash on my finger. It is itchy.

What could this be? Scabies? Eczema or other dermatitis? A flea bite? A boil? An allergic reaction?

I have a newborn and am very concerned by any possibility that it could be scabies.

I'm 33 years old. I have a number of allergies and am taking a single prescription medication. I had a number of undiagnosed skin issues a few years ago that led me to suspect that I might have eczema, although they were not particularly similar to this. I've been having issues with lack of cleanliness in the home (unwashed dishes and infrequent clothes washing) leading to fruit flies and for some reason spiders.

The red lesion on your finger looks like a cherry angioma which is quite harmless and shouldnt itch. Dont try picking at it as they bleed quite a lot. I think you probably have some eczema on your fingers and the angioma is just coincidental.

The itching may be caused by your concern over your newborn. I wonder if you are a bit too over anxious about the unwashed dishes and clothes washing?I think you are male and the father? Would your partner benefit from some help around the house? Having a newborn is very exhausting.

As long as the dishes are washed once per day and clothes are washed a couple of times per week dont worry. Its more important to enjoy that baby, and if things get a bit untidy, it doesnt matter.

Fruit flies are everywhere this time of year and are usually only attracted to fruity things. Dont worry about them. Unless you are in a country where you have poisonious spiders, dont fret about them either, they do a lot of good.
