I have a single spot of pain upper right chest. Doesn't hurt when I cough or breath but on occasion aches and gives me a sharp pain.

Can be tender to touch like a bruise; it's not. It feels like it is the underside of my ribs.any ideas ?

when I have had pneumothoraces in the past, it hurt much worse when I took a deep breath or coughed.  Hope this helps.

Hi John332, I get the same thing; began after injury to my right arm and apparently chest area.  Almost feels like it goes from my upper right arm to my upper chest area and it is quite painful if i move my arm a certain way...I'm going to the doctors tomorrow and I'm going to ask for xrays so i can get peace of mind. Just wondering if it could be injury and remember bruising can happen on the inside to my knowledge anyway and i'm not a doctor...over one year agoI  lifted up windows that did not open and i felt like i tore ligaments or what have you in both upper chest areas and i still have pain in these areas now...ofcourse i was stupid and kept trying the windows that wouldn't open easily...don't do things like that.  Good Luck...I also had a echo-cardiogram back in July 2017 and it hurt as the sonographer went under by boob on the bone area and it felt bruised and i told him that and he just kept proceeding so from now on i don't have utlra sounds done because that's the second time i felt a lot of discomfort and later bruising after the sonographer did their alleged work...they put too much pressure on the areas and forget we are flesh and blood i think...hurt a lot..
