Sinus blockage

For a while, I have been vomiting up mucus and after a few gp appointments I was advised it could be a post nasal drip. She recommended me to use beconase nasal spray for 2 weeks and if it didn't help - contact the doctors again. So the spray has stopped me vomiting (thankfully!) but now - I feel as if I cant breathe (through my mouth or nose) so I spoke to the gp who has, after explaining everything to her, has said it could possibly be sinus blockage. So has prescribed me 5 days worth of penacillin and said if I don't feel better by Monday to ring back. She has said that if I still feel the same they'll do a full blood count and do my inflammatory markers again (back in October time these were high but not high enough for the gp to be concerned) and hopefully they should have come down? I suffer with bad health anxiety and wondered if anyone knew why they would repeat the bloods? Is there anything in particular they could be testing for?
Thank you in advance. X

Hi Sarah,
I don't know what they were looking for but have you tried sinus rinse? It can help clear blockage. Some people say that milk products increase mucous production so its worths reviewing your diet to see if that will decrease the mucous.
Hope this helps.

Forgot to add they may be checking to see if you have an infection that is causing the inflammation / checking whether the penicillin worked only your doctor can answer this question though.
Something else to try is a facial massage that can help drain your lymph nodes.

Im having terrible problems with a sinus blockage. I have a deviated septum and now I'm older I'm having constant problems. Beconase or any sprays don't help . Strong antibiotic help but they upset my tummy and a few years ago I had serious bowel surgery so I just can't keep taking antibiotics but as soon as I stop taking them all the problems come back. The whole side of my face hurts ,ear hurts, etc but the worst problem is the headaches that wake me every morning about 5 o'clock. I've tried nasal rinse etc. Nothing helps. Seeing specialist in few weeks. After all my bowel problems the last thing I need is this but I've just got to go and see him and see what he can suggest has anyone got any suggestions why I can do in the meantime? Sarah sorry I cant help you .
