Sinus infection and swelling?

I've heard of people experiencing facial swelling with a sinus infections; cheeks and eye area... is it possible for your inner cheeks to swell as my right inner cheek is swollen and sore to press on? I also have the usual discharge from nose, pressure in upper teeth and post nasal drip. Please can anyone she'd some light as to whether this swelling is due to sinus problems in my maxillary sinus? Thank you for reading!

I used to get similar symptoms when both of my maxillary sinuses were blocked. In fact I have previously had teeth removed as the dentist thought that was the cause of my pain.

It was only when I had both my maxillary sinuses operated on did my years of upper teeth trouble seem to resolve.

Thank you for your reply... did your inner cheeks swell? it's only on one side but it's painful to press on intermittently.

Not so that I noticed, in terms of swelling. But by cheeks I'm referring to the area under your eyes, where you press and it is bone underneath. Those areas were related to my maxillary sinuses being blocked and infected.

It was only later that after a CT scan did I understand how blocked they were by bone etc, resolved when they were operated on.

After that OP I then had similar painful issues around my eyes and top bridge of my nose and eyebrow area. Post nasal drip was always present. Sometimes the pain around and seemingly in my eyes was pretty bad.

I'm about two months post op from my second sinus surgery on my ethmoid and frontal sinuses, hopefully that will improve those.
