Sinus Troubles or Side Effects of,,,?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I've had what seems like allergies for several months. So I've been on Enbrel suspiciously about the same time. But it's been warm but comfy at night to keep the windows open. So,,, is it my allergies which don't typically bother me but I'm overloading with outdoor night air? Is Enbrel weakening my normal response to pollens? I travel a lot by plane and auto so am I picking up virus and can't kick it?

I just reached the point that I'm tired of it. I'm not running at the nose at all or normal allergy symptoms my sinuses are just swollen and I feel stopped up and did I say I'm tired of it??!

I just read that sinus infections are a side effect of Enbrel. It doesn't seem that bad it's just annoying.

My doc claims I'm atypical. Anyone else?

You're awesome for listening. Thx!

What is your illness?  Is it only allergies?  If it is you are probably on the wrong site.  C. 💐

I was diagnosed in 2010 with RA. Such an interesting malady. But I'm thankful because others have lots worse.

"Interesting" is an unusual word for RA.  I could suggest others!!!😡😡😡

Hey C- I'll betcha know some doozies. Maybe all diseases affect us all differently, but it seems like with RA there's some things that work, and some doesn't for others. Then there's the triggers that are inexplicable. I feel pretty good between flare ups, hence being thankful. For now. But I know it's hard to find good days for so many so I'm hopeful that all these other drugs out there might help when one stops working.

Are you taking enbrel for RA? I m on a different biologic, rituximab, but I know with all of them I have to be on the lookout for infection because of lowered immunity. But the info on that also says it might be hard to know if you have an nfection as temp may not rise. frown

so not much help I m afraid!

Thanks Rowbirdie that's exactly some of my worries; symptoms that don't show themselves completely. I'd hate to have a long term infection and not know it. But I've had sinus infections and even when I plowed on they were no fun at all.

I'm going to treat myself a little better and see if it improves. Can't just ignore it like I've been doing just in case.

      Thanks all!

Hi there. Ive been on enbrel for a year. I experienced a stuffy nose for the first 6 wks then it settled. I had to come off enbrel for a few weeks to have my knees replaced. I've just gone back on enbrel and the stuffy nose is back. I also get burnings in my tum. Ive only had one mild waterwork infection since using it. It does help the RA though. Just wish I'd had it sooner so I didn't need my knees replacing. Good luck with the treatment.

      So very interesting....

There's nothing like collaboration. Now I think I'll try a couple things. Maybe I'll close up the place and make sure it's not environmental. When folks are suffering badly from spring allergies, I'm barely phased. But I can tell when I've been inundated with pollens but just not all that bad. Which this isn't either, really. I'm just stuffy. And it's tiring.

      Thanks for the info Deborah67573!

      Prayers for your knees.
