Sinusitis for three weeks

I have had sinusitis for 3 weeks now (first time sufferer). It began on my left side and I was given some antibiotics to clear it... this cleared the left side but just before finishing the course it started on the right side. All symptoms are the same e.g. pressure above upper back teeth, aching above eye, post nasal drip e.c.t. however, i constantly have a sensation of little bits in my mouth and have to swallow them down. Could it be I have been misdiagnosed and actually have an infection of my right saliva gland or is this symptom normal for a sinus infection? Thanks.

Hey sarah, sinus cavities are linked with each other so it is easy to spread it from one side to another...did you have your sinus ct scan done? usually it takes time to heal the sinus infection...And if it is not healing with antibiotic course and happening again then you should see your doctor again, As may be this antibiotic might not be working and they can prescribe you some other antibiotics with some nasal sprays...You should see your doctor again if it is not improving..Your symptoms does not look due to salivary gland problemconfused

Thank you so much for your reply. No I did not have a ct scan done... I have been back to the doctor and was prescribed another course of antibiotics however they are the same as the course I have just finished. I am allergic to both penicillin and another class of antibiotics containing macrolides so I am told I am very limited in relation to what medicines I can be given rolleyes
