sister in law been on prednisalone for 11 years for ra

My sister in law has been on prednisalone for 11 years for ra and is now on methrotrexate 10mg weekly as well as Cimzia injections every two weeks responsding well to the treatment as far as ra is concerned apart from some side effects but is now worried about total withdrawal from pred after been tapered down to 1mg.Any advice on the time it will take for natural steroids to be produced in her glands would be welcome .*
