Six weeks post op

So I am now at 6 weeks and it is odd, I almost feel like I never had surgery.  I have to admit I think I had my first hot flash today and man it sucked.  I am so excited to finally be allowed to go swimming this labor day weekend.  I do get a small pain here and there but nothing serious, I feel very lucky to have had an awesome Dr and for things to go rather smoothly!

I feel the same way!  Although I did have some pain today but I'm pretty sure it's because I ate way too much food this weekend and stretched my stomach out a bit!  But you're right, it feels like I never had surgery at all!  I hope you enjoyed finally getting in the pool!

Hey ladies remember to take it easy! I too felt like this after six weeks after a sub total hysterectomy. I am nearly 4 months post op and still get tender skin over my abdomen and feel tired of over doing it. Remember you're still healing inside. I had to be reminded of this and especially especially during sex. Keep it 'gentle' for a while! 😜 So nice to be fibroid free!! So much more energy now!Much love and healing! Maria ??.

Cara - congrats my girl, onwards to a new life. Remember you are still healing up inside, so don't go doing anything tooo silly, gently gently does it for a while yet.

Swimming is great idea, treading water, was a life saver for me post hip replacement surgery, and physio delighted with how strong I was at 6 months when I had a check up, but again you are not to try and swim the olympic records pace, gently gently, I found a noodle or water log was just the perfect support in the water and allowed me just to rest when I needed to, and take a break.

    Hi Cara

    That is great news 🙂

I am also six weeks today post full abdominal hysterectomy and wishing I had had my surgery five years ago. I have been for a swim this morning and will continue with my daily walks too. I am going back to work this week so looking forward to getting back to normality. However I am also mindful that I need to take it easy and listen to my body and rest when needed.

wishing you well with your continued recovery

    Anita xx
