Sjogren's croaky voice comes and goes

?I've got an appointment to see the Respiratory Medicine team next Monday about the asthma, but I'm just wondering if any other Sjogren's Syndrome sufferers have anything similar happening with their voice? My dentist seems to think it's all to do with it just because, like all dentists, he's pretty au fait with the condition. The good news though, is that at least my teeth aren't suffering too much.....yet? Always a bright side eh

Hi I've have the same problem with my voice. I've been sent to see so many different doctors in the last year. Even though they know I have Sjogren. It like they don't listen to you. I find if I over do things my voice get worse. I never know what my voice is going to sound like or if I will have one at all. I had to change my job as I was unable to talk, most days. But were is work now they are very supportive. As now I'm having problems with my lungs. I've never had any one explain to me what is going on . Unfortunately my doctors are not that good. So I've come on here for some help myself.

Aww Wendy, you poor soul! Bad enough with the voice problems but it is known that one of the most common complications of Sjogren's can be lung problems. There are many more which you can find easily - if you're brave enough - simply by googling Sjogren's Syndrome and anything you don't quite understand you will probably find some helpful person on here that will be able to explain what they mean as there are several nurses and ex-nurses on this forum with Sjogren's, (me included lol). I must admit, that the lung complication worries me too having already got asthma and fearing that I may be more prone to that kind of complication.
The news on my own croaky voice is that it's still coming and going having had no improvement from the month of double my usual dose of Omeprazole and neither was there any improvement using double the amount of my preventor inhaler for the month either! I know the Respiratory medicine mob are doing their best to help but will have to wait and see what they say at my next appointment which isn't due until about January. Which reminds me, I haven't received that appointment in the post yet but since their appointments system doesn't work a year in advance, I shouldn't be surprised really lol
Is your lung problem bronchiectasis by any chance? I only ask because that's the most common lung complication of Sjogren's.
I do hope you can find some useful information on this site Wendy, they're a pretty helpful bunch.
Wishing you well.
