Sjogrens and now PMR

ive had Sjogrens since 1976 and was just diagnosed with PMR 2 months ago it is so debilitating and cant get rid of the stiffness and pain inspite of being on 20 mg of prednisone which is causing my dry eyes to be worse lots of headaches but no GCA FEELING DISCOURAGED

    After GCA, I was diagnosed with PMR. Started on 15mg of prednisone, the pain went in six hours. Wonderful - I thought! But following doctor's treatment plan, dropped too quickly and the pain and stiffness came back a week or so again. Disappointed.

    Now back on prednisone and relying on advice from forum member on coming to terms with how to manage treatment at a sustainable level to prevent any more flares. Dry eyes are a nuisance and I use eye-drops as often as needed.

    lm off of pred my pain seem the sane with or with out the doc is no help

    Hi Ina, we are all different, when I started on Prednisone it took about a month before I felt good and then I started my tapering. I would give the Pred, a chance to get the inflammation under control and if it doesn't you may have to increase your dosage. Good luck on your PMR journey, we are all here for you to share our thoughts. 🙂
